Xianjie Chiu, director
of the Tzuoo-Ann Animal Hospital in New Taipei City, explained that the veterinary
hospital has been in operation for 17 years and established their minimally
invasive surgery center about six years ago.
Beyond the X-ray
machines and ultrasound scanners commonly found in veterinary hospitals, there
are also CT scan machines, dental X-ray machines, and endoscopy equipment applied
to a range of procedures from cardiac surgery to joint orthopedics and
laparoscopy. These advanced procedures, commonly thought to be for humans only,
can be used to treat our furry friends as well.
Xianjie Chiu Qiu
pointed out that the surgical operation room in the hospital has recently
introduced the image integration technology provided by Pro AV manufacturer CYP
(Cypress Technology Ltd.) which supports everything from preoperative
evaluation and intraoperative X-ray photography to postoperative imaging
assistance, and assists with precision medical services in his veterinary
hospital. Mr. Chiu plans to expand their offerings by introducing distance
learning live broadcasts, becoming the first imaging-integrated veterinary surgery
operation room in Taiwan.
The recently
completed 4K imaging integrated surgery operation room uses a 65-inch 4K
high-definition TV to perform the world’s first 4K new ICG fluorescent imaging
assisted system operation, successfully completing thoracoscopic treatment of 57 Taiwanese Shiba
Inus with chylothorax.
In this veterinary
hospital, a pet’s owner can observe the dynamics of the operating room, live, from
the second floor through a glass partition. Mr. Chiu points out that
the family can record or broadcast live video during the operation.
