Customer Background
Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is Malaysia's primary electric utility, serving over 10 million customers.TNB established a centralized Command Center that centralizes monitoring of power status, performance, and potential risks across the network.
Bringing multiple data and video sources together could allow operators to respond faster to issues, ensure service continuity, and maintain safe reliable power delivery.
Project Requirements and Challenges
To keep the Command Center operating at peak performance 24/7, the AV system needed to meet the following requirements:
- High-Quality Video Transmission - 4K video signals from 16 PCs must be reliably distributed without losing clarity or detail.
- Scalable AV Infrastructure - The system must accommodate multiple transmitters and receivers while remaining flexible for future expansion.
- Centralized Control and Monitoring - A unified platform to preview sources, adjust device settings, and simplify system maintenance, were needed by the operators reducing the chance of operational errors.
- Stable, Real-Time Operation and Fast Deployment - The system must ensure reliable 24/7 performance with minimal latency and allow quick installation and easy maintenance, minimizing setup time and ensuring continuous operation for mission-critical monitoring.
Solution
CYP implemented a HyLinX 1G AV over IP solution tailored for high-availability command centers and transportation operations.
The deployment features 16× CH-U350TX transmitters and 16× CH-U331RX receivers, enabling real time, minimal latency distribution of 4K AV signals from operator workstations to the main display infrastructure.
System configuration, live source previews, and device status monitoring are unified through a single control, the CDPS-CS8 Master Controller.
Additionally, the setup includes integrated audio routing, directing audio feeds directly through the receivers into local mixing consoles and ceiling loudspeakers to deliver clear, synchronized sounds across the facility.
Solution Advantages
- Seamless AV over IP Management - Centralized control via the CDPS-CS8 controller offers real time previews and effortless configuration for confident decision-making.
- Crystal-Clear 4K Visualization - Ensures every details from each workstation, ensuring data clarity in the command center.
- Synchronized Audio Distribution - Provides synchronized and clear sound throughout the facility.
- Reliable & Scalable Architecture - PoE simplifies wiring, while the IP-based system design ensures easy future expansion and reliable 24/7 operation.
User Benefits
- Faster Incident Response - Operators can instantly reconfigure the multiscreen video wall and recall preset layouts during critical grid events.
- Enhanced Visual Collaboration - Quad views or PiP displays allows operators to analyze related monitoring data on a single screen.
- Simplified daily operation - Direct keypad presets make frequently used display arrangements easier to recall.
- Expandable system architecture - The IP-based design allows additional sources, laptops, or display endpoints without requiring a system overhaul.
More Applications
- Airport & Seaport Security Operations
- Power Grid & Utility Control Rooms
- Smart Manufacturing Situation Room
CDPS-CS8
4K30 over 1G IP Master Control
This controller is a powerful and flexible solution for controlling multiple Video over IP (VoIP) extenders within same network. The user only needs to install this unit into the same local network as the extenders (Transmitter and Receiver) to easily define and configure channel routing selections, for both unicast and multicast scenarios, using the WebGUI. It is also possible to define and switch routes using customized groups or presets allowing for easy control over multiple video zones. Without the use of this centralized unit, each individual Transmitter and Receiver in the system would need to be controlled and configured directly through their own individual WebGUIs. Additionally, this unit supports controlling the matrix and video wall modes of connected VoIP units. The settings of all connected Transmitter/Receiver units, including IP address, netmask and extender status are clearly displayed within the WebGUI. The WebGUI is easily accessed via a web browser over a normal network connection or by directly connecting an HDMI display and USB keyboard & mouse to the unit. A trigger input interface is also provided to allow the easy addition of a remote control keypad, or other trigger-supporting products, which can be installed within a podium or within a table in a conference room or classroom. This interface can allow the user to activate stored presets with the simple press of a button. Standard control is available via WebGUI (remote or local), RS-232, Telnet, IR Remote and triggers.
CH-U350TX
HDMI/VGA over IP Transmitter with USB/KVM Extension
This unit is part of a 4K UHD Multi-Function Extension system that allows you to extend HDMI or VGA signals along with KVM using the TCP/ IP protocol over regular Cat.5e/6/7 network cable. This extender supports the transmission of Ultra High-Defi nition signals (up to 4K@30Hz YUV 4:4:4 or 4K@60Hz YUV 4:2:0) with audio and USB up to 100m on a single cable. The transmission distance can be further extended (up to 100m per segment) by using gigabit network switches, allowing the user to cascade the system without signal loss or introducing delay. It is also possible to have the extension system’s Transmitter operate in multicast mode, allowing you to send a single AV signal to a large number of Receivers within the same local network. It is useful for user to create large multi-display video walls with amazing simplicity
CH-U331RX
UHD HDMI/VGA over IP Receiver with KVM Extension
The CH-U331RX, one part of a 4K UHD Multi-Function Extension system, is able to extend HDMI or VGA signals along with KVM through Cat.5e/6/7 network cable and transmit UHD video signals, audio and USB up to 100m on a single cable. The transmission distance can be further extended (up to 100m per segment) by using gigabit network switches, allowing the user to cascade the system without signal loss or introducing delay.
